Introducing the New KindMind
Today is a big day! After more than a year of rebuilding KindMind from the ground up, the doors are open to everyone. The new KindMind is a private space to write what you feel, with an AI guide to help you go deeper, built on an encryption design that keeps your words yours alone in storage.
Privacy first, and we mean it structurally
Most journaling apps promise privacy in a policy. We built it into the architecture instead. Every journal entry you write is encrypted on your device before it is stored, and we do not hold the key that decrypts it. Our database only ever holds ciphertext we cannot open. This is the same zero-knowledge approach used by Proton Mail and Signal, applied to your journal.
That choice has teeth. There is no admin view of your writing, no server-side search over your entries, and no way for a breach of our database to expose what you wrote. When you use an AI feature, your device decrypts only what that request needs and sends it through our AI proxy to our AI provider, and it is not stored or logged along the way. Read the full encryption overview if you want the details. We wrote it for people who check.
What you get
- Journal, free forever. One never-ending page. Write today at the bottom and your history scrolls upward behind it. No folders, no friction, and no charge. The private journal is free for everyone.
- Guide.A thoughtful AI companion in one continuous conversation. Talk through what's on your mind, process emotions, and challenge stuck thinking, with a guide that remembers the context you've chosen to share.
- Paths. Multi-day guided journeys on sleep, confidence, difficult decisions, grief, and dozens more. Each day is a real conversation designed around where you are, not a worksheet.
Simple pricing
The journal is free, full stop. KindMind Plus adds Guide and Paths for $12 a month, or $72a year (that's $6 a month). Every new account starts with a free 14-day trial of Plus, no card required, so you can meet your guide before deciding anything.
