Finding Peace with Family

You want to protect your peace around family, understanding what's yours to change and what isn't, and how much closeness is right for you.

Understand the dynamics in your family that have been hurting you and learn what's yours to fix and what isn't. Over 14 days, you'll look at the roles you were handed, the patterns that keep repeating, and what acceptance can look like without approval. You'll work out how much closeness is right for you, whether that means firmer boundaries or more distance.

Where it goes

This journey is for anyone who loves their family and also finds being around them exhausting, painful, or triggering. Over 14 days, you'll map the patterns that drain you and build a toolkit for staying grounded in family spaces without losing yourself or cutting people off.

The approach

IFS + DBT

The first half uses an IFS lens to see family roles and patterns as protective parts that made sense once. The second half turns to DBT-style concrete skills for navigating real interactions and regulating the hard emotions that come up.

KindMind is an online journal with tools for self-discovery and growth. We draw on these approaches because they hold up well in self-guided work. This is not treatment, and it is not a substitute for working with a therapist or counselor when that is the right call.

Day by day

14 short sessions, in order. The guide walks each one with you and adapts it to what you bring.

  7. Day 7

    Check-in: What's Coming Up

Pause and check what emotions or memories this week has stirred up.

Part 2: Finding Your Peace

  1. Day 8

What's Yours to Fix (And What Isn't)

Separate the family problems you can influence from the ones you can't control.

  2. Day 9

    Setting Boundaries with Family

Practice saying no or setting a limit without apologizing or justifying endlessly.

  3. Day 10

    Surviving Family Gatherings

  4. Day 11

    Grieving the Family You Wanted

Acknowledge the sadness of accepting your family as they are, not as you wish.
