Where it goes

This journey is for anyone tired of evaluating their body every time they pass a mirror or get dressed. Over 14 days, you'll trace where the criticism came from and practice relating to your body as something that works with you, not against you.

The approach

Somatic / Polyvagal + Mindfulness Meditation

The first half traces the origin of body beliefs through reflection, classic expressive territory. The second half asks you to notice your body's signals around food, movement, and comfort, which is somatic work.

KindMind is an online journal with tools for self-discovery and growth. We draw on these approaches because they hold up well in self-guided work. This is not treatment, and it is not a substitute for working with a therapist or counselor when that is the right call.

Day by day

14 short sessions, in order. The guide walks each one with you and adapts it to what you bring.

You'll notice what actually runs through your head when you see yourself reflected.

  3. Day 3

What Your Body Has Done for You

You'll write down what your body has done for you that has nothing to do with appearance.

  5. Day 5

The Days You Forgot About Your Body

You'll recall a time you were so absorbed in something you forgot to think about your body.

  6. Day 6

    From Judgment to Curiosity

You'll practice noticing a body judgment and turning it into a neutral, curious observation instead.

  7. Day 7

    What You've Noticed So Far

You'll pause and take stock of what you've learned about where your body beliefs began.

Part 2: Building a New Relationship

  1. Day 8

    Nourishment, Not Punishment

You'll explore what nourishment feels like when it's not tangled up with control or punishment.

  2. Day 9

    Movement That Feels Good

You'll think about movement that feels good in your body, not movement you force yourself through.

  3. Day 10

    Dressing for Yourself

You'll consider what you'd wear if you were dressing only to feel comfortable and like yourself.

  4. Day 11

What You'd Tell Your Best Friend

You'll write what you'd say to a friend struggling with their body, then read it back to yourself.

  5. Day 12

    The Bad Body Days

You'll make a plan for the days when body criticism flares up hard again, because it will.

  6. Day 13

    Protecting the Progress

You'll identify which people, media, or environments undermine your progress, and set a boundary around one.

  7. Day 14

    Enough, Exactly As You Are

You'll write a letter to your body that names what enough actually looks like for you.
