Understanding Yourself · 14 days

Making Sense of Perimenopause

You want to understand what is happening to you, stop treating every symptom as proof you are failing, and feel like yourself again.

The rage arrives out of nowhere, the fog makes you doubt whether you can still do your job, and you are awake again at 3am with labs that came back normal. Over 14 days, you'll separate the symptom from the judgement you have attached to it, look honestly at work, desire, sleep and the people you have not told, and get reacquainted with a version of you that changed without asking. You will not be told what is normal here, and you will not be given medical advice. This is the part nobody is helping you with.

Where it goes

This journey is for women in perimenopause who are navigating symptoms that arrived without warning and a world that offers very little help making sense of them. Over 14 days, you'll separate what's actually happening from the judgement you've layered on top, and figure out what you need to renegotiate now that your body has changed the terms.

The approach

Somatic / Polyvagal + Sleep Health

The journey asks you to name what's happening in your body without the overlay of shame or dismissal, then write your way through the stories you've attached to each symptom. That's expressive writing meeting somatic attention.

KindMind is an online journal with tools for self-discovery and growth. We draw on these approaches because they hold up well in self-guided work. This is not treatment, and it is not a substitute for working with a therapist or counselor when that is the right call.

Day by day

14 short sessions, in order. The guide walks each one with you and adapts it to what you bring.

Part 1: What Is Actually Happening

Naming the symptoms honestly and pulling apart what your body is doing from what you have decided it says about you

  1. Day 1

    The Symptom You Never Attributed

Name one physical or emotional change you didn't connect to perimenopause until recently.

  2. Day 2

    The Rage from Nowhere

Look at the anger that arrives without a clear target or proportion.

  3. Day 3

    The Competence Panic

Write about the moments you doubt whether you can still do what you've always done.

  4. Day 4

    The 3am Wake-Up

Explore what happens in the middle of the night when sleep won't come back.

  5. Day 5

    Everything Came Back Normal

Sit with the gap between test results that say nothing is wrong and a body that disagrees.

  6. Day 6

    Living in a Changed Body

Notice what it's like to live in a body that feels unfamiliar or uncooperative.

  7. Day 7

Check-in: The Symptom and the Story

Check in on which symptoms carry the heaviest stories and which feel more neutral.

Part 2: Renegotiating the Terms

Rebuilding what you expect of yourself at work, at home and in your own head, and meeting the version of you that is here now

  1. Day 8

    Hiding It at Work

Look at what you're concealing at work and what that effort costs you.

  2. Day 9

    Renegotiating What You Expect

Identify one expectation of yourself that no longer fits and needs adjusting.

  3. Day 10

    Desire and Your Partner

Write honestly about desire, your partner, and what's shifted between you.

  4. Day 11

    Telling People What's Happening

Consider who knows what's happening to you and who you've kept in the dark.

  5. Day 12

    The End of Maybe Someday

Sit with the closing of possibilities you may have held open, wanted or not.

  6. Day 13

    Getting Reacquainted With Yourself

Meet the version of yourself that's here now, not the one you expected to be.

  7. Day 14

    What Steadies You From Here

Name what will steady you going forward, now that you know more about what you're facing.
